We don't have an "official" accuracy range for our Monitor, but we typically see accuracy within +/-10% of a mechanical, in-line meter.

I just completed my first accuracy test and my meter from 07/11 through 08/12 showed 7,100 gallons and the data from the API showed 8032.30.  The API data includes usage from midnight on both start and stop dates so depending on the time the meter was read there would have been a little less on the API side but this is almost 15% inaccurate.  I am showing 6 gallons being used on a toilet flush which cannot be right.  Is there some way to better calibrate this to get a more accurate reading?

    Hi,

Thanks for your message. I just want to confirm that I am understanding you correctly. Based on your accuracy test, you have found that the water usage data provided in the StreamLabs App and the water usage data provided in the API are significantly (15%) different? Or are you saying that the water usage data provided by StreamLabs (via API) is 15% off from another water meter that you are using?

    Thanks!

The usage from the API is just under 15% more than the utility company water meter.

I'm interested in hearing more about the accuracy as well. And actually seeing some sort of resolution of the previous poster's problem.

The streamlabs meter is a measurement device and one of the key performance specifications of a measurement device is accuracy. It's a little disconcerting that you don't have such a spec that you cannot suggest a more accurate calibration procedure. It's an cool and innovative product, but it's utility will be limited by accuracy.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. While the StreamLabs Monitor does provide accurate water usage data, it is not a rated water meter. Most of the Monitor's main functions are focused on leak detection, the product's main purpose. However, we have received similar feedback that many customers are using the Monitor as a metering device and plan to add more features related to metering in the near future.

    Thanks!

"While the StreamLabs Monitor does provide accurate water usage data..."

Can you give us a number?

    Hi,

We generally expect a 5-10% margin of error with the StreamLabs Monitor, though the margin of error can be much smaller depending on the installation conditions.

    Thanks!
