I would very much like to see this device have an outdoor installation option.
It’s very common on the West coast where there are no basements and concrete slab foundations for a home to have the main water and shutoff run from outside directly into the exterior walls and not being exposed indoors. Barring opening up a wall and installing both the device and an electrical outlet inside, these kinds of homes will have almost no option to install this device except for outdoors.
With the West Coast and California in particular being a major market given the water conservation needs, it seems like a very good idea to offer an option for installing outdoors, perhaps by having a special weatherproof enclosure? Plugging in the device can be difficult but a lot easier to solve that problem with an outdoor extension cord rather than tearing open a wall to find a main pipe to install.
