Works with Nest®

If you have a StreamLabs + Nest connection setup:

Nest is encouraging their users to migrate to a Google account. Google has not yet defined all available feature sets, but plans to make announcements later this year. In the meantime, the StreamLabs team is working on an integration with Google Assistant and we will notify you as soon as it is available.

If you migrate your Nest account to a Google account, your StreamLabs and Nest connection will no longer work. Once you migrate to a Google account, it is not possible to revert back to a Nest account.

If you choose to delay the migration of your Nest account to a Google account, your StreamLabs and Nest connection will continue to work.

Why is this happening?

In order to enhance the user experience for their customers, Nest and Google are combining the “Works with Nest” program with “Works with Google Assistant."

Nest and Google's goal is to have one Google Account to manage all your Nest and Google Home devices. This will impact any existing device integrations you have, including StreamLabs.

Tips for if you already have a Nest connection established:

Review how Nest determines when you're Home or Away. When configuring Nest Home/Away Assist settings in the Nest app, you can select how Nest determines whether you're home or away. If your Nest Thermostat is not in a heavily-trafficked location in your home, consider setting your Nest to determine your Home/Away status based on your phone's location. This way, you will not receive false leak alerts from your Streamlabs Monitor for normal usage when you're home. Learn more about Home/Away Assist here.
